Discovering patterns and possibilities

Consulting and coaching for unleashing professional potential and boosting stakeholder value is my passion. This takes renewal of professional practices and organizational patterns. Guiding these kinds of expeditions to fullfilling and valuable practices, strategy and culture is how I create the utmost value for my customers and myself.

Expedition to value

The expedition leads to sources of value perception (i.e. customers), value creation (professional hot spots) and potential for value (places of inspiration). The aim is discovering valuable practices and the underlying strategic logic with professionals. Rerthinking the consequences of no change triggers the moment of truth. Cocreating value brings heads, harts and hands together. The expedition method is developed and tested in my consultancy practice and Phd research.

Recent projects

  • Strategy development for a hallmark institute, city government, hospital, a Chamber of Commerce and a publishing company
  • Restructuring at a firm of consulting engineers, a stock exchange firm and inside a university teaching hospital
  • Evaluating, positioning and professionalizing advisory and support functions at a university, a health care establishment and various consultancy firms
  • Management development and team development in organizations of professionals
  • Individual coaching programmes for executives and professionals

'Reflective practitioner'

I have been a partner in CORDES since 1992. Before that I studied Economics and Social Psychology and worked six years for Holland Consulting Group. The driving forces that motivate me are ‘understanding’ and ‘moving’. They express themselves in my assignments and in my research and publications on managing and advising on change. I enjoy bringing across my ideas in teaching programmes and lectures, like the postgraduate course Health Care Management at the Free University Amsterdam. In 2004 I proudly received the Professional Publication Award.

Love of the outdoors

In my spare time, I am an enthusiastic cyclist, mountain biker and skater. With the wind blowing through my hair, I relax and recharge energy. At home my girlfriend Jacqueline and my children Hansje and Nelle source my zest for life. As, occasionally, does my guitar. Joke, my wife who passed away in 2000, taught me above all to treasure and give value to each moment of this beautiful life.
