Coaching the Cordes Way
All coaches at Cordes have wide-ranging experience. We coach executives and professional people who wish to work intensively on their own development. Our coaching can be characterised by the following approaches and features:
Result driven
We establish the objectives of the coaching programme in close discussion with the client. We use a variety of tools to get a clear picture of the client’s coaching objective.
We set down the agreements regarding the duration and frequency of coaching in a contract, and then refine the objectives with the person involved at the first coaching session.
Effective at Three Levels
Our coaching works at three different levels:
- We provide behavioural alternatives and workable solutions to current problems.
- We analyse the patterns of behaviour of the person involved by asking: Why is this person constantly faced with the same problems? What is their own share in this? And how can these patterns be avoided?
- We look into the fundamental attitude: What are the standards, values and motivating factors behind the behaviour of the person involved?
As we work, we aim to deal with the different levels in their ideal mutual relationship.
Focus on Practice
In the first sessions, the emphasis lies on self-examination. We concentrate on the points that enable the desired result to be achieved. At a later stage, the accent almost automatically comes to lie on acquiring skills. An assignment is agreed at the end of every session.
During the assignment the person involved puts the points that arise during the session into practice. We evaluate this at the next session. We also ask them to write a report on the learning experience gained. Practical exercises in handling difficult situations may also be part of the coaching programme. For this, we use actors and video feedback.
Confidentiality
No information or observations gathered during the coaching programme are ever discussed with third parties without permission from the person involved. This is in accordance with the regulations of the Board of Organisation Consultancies (ROA) and the Dutch Association of Psychologists (NIP).
Evaluation
At the end of the programme, the coaching is evaluated with the person involved. We examine the extent to which the formulated objectives have been achieved and make agreements regarding continuation, if needed, of the learning process.
